If your business sells products that come packaged in recyclable materials, providing your customers with recycling bins is an effective way to encourage responsible disposal efforts. Recycling containers include units that can be placed indoors or outdoors.
Container Types
A recycling container may be designed to hold one or more types of renewable materials. If you sell merchandise that comes in canned or bottled formats, having access to a series of bulk recycling containers may be essential. Single units that are each designed to hold a large number of renewable materials will sufficiently support the recycling efforts.
A sectioned-off unit, which contains individual storage chambers that are attached together, may provide less space for each renewable material that you will be collecting. This type of unit may contain a fixed base or a wheelbase. A 'light duty' recycling product may be constructed of corrugated cardboard. This type of recycling product is designed for indoor use. A plastic liner should be used to protect the inside of a corrugated unit.
Heavy-duty recycling bins that are washable will need to be manually cleaned out on a recurring basis. Once you begin recycling at your place of business, you will get accustomed to how quickly the container or containers fill up. This will allow you to pre-schedule the days when the recycling products will need to be cleaned and sanitized.
Access Points And Printing
The access point that your customers will be supplied with may have a bearing on how a particular recycling container is used. If you will be collecting recyclables inside of your place of business, an opening along the top of each container will allow your patrons to simply toss their recyclables into each container that is designated for the waste items.
If you would like to offer a convenient drive-up service, you may want to purchase large recycling bins that contain side openings. These types of openings will allow a motorist to place recyclables inside of the units, without needing to exit a vehicle.
Printing on the recycling products should clearly indicate what type of material should be stored inside each receptacle. Some manufacturers of recycling materials may feature products that contain pictures and bold print. A sanitizing station can be set up alongside the area where recycling efforts will be conducted. Offering a liquid or gel hand sanitizer that comes in a pump format will encourage your consumers to practice good hygiene.
